Satellite estimates show about 36 mm on average over the catchment above Dollow and 30 mm above Luuq during 19–26 October, nearly all of it in the past three days. Since the start of the month (1–24 October), most of Gedo, Bay and Bakool has received 200–500 mm, far above normal, while the Ethiopian headwaters and the Kenyan part of the catchment received less and were below normal in places.
